Currently Bokuden ryū is located in Hirosaki, Japan and is led by Koyama Hidehiro (15th generation headmaster and successor to the school)
Oyama-family has led the school for a 10 generations. Before the Meiji-restauration the family taught the daimyo (lords) of Tsugaru for several generations.
